Barnes & Noble is planning to shutter one of its longstanding New Jersey locations.

The popular bookstore chain announced in a Facebook post its Paramus location at 765 Route 17 will close on Saturday, Feb. 11.

We wish we could have served the community from this location for many, many more years, but the landlord has chosen not to renew our lease and will be redeveloping the site, the post read. It has truly been our honor and privilege to be your bookseller in Paramus for the last 28 years.

The site is expected to be converted into an adult daycare center for people with disabilities called New Concepts for Living, according to NorthJersey.com.

Barnes & Noble recently shuttered its store in Clark after not being able to reach a new leasing agreement there, as well.

The bookseller expressed its hope to reopen stores near Paramus and Clark.

We are doing everything we can to find a new location, hoping to return close to here with a new bookstore before too long, Barnes & Noble said.

There are 17 Barnes & Noble bookstores in New Jersey and over 600 nationwide.

As department stores and malls have suffered at the hands of the retail apocalypse, the print book market has experienced a resurgence. This is thanks in part to TikTok.
