Several big tech firms laid off workers earlier this year and Microsoft Corp MSFT was one of them, cutting 5% of its workforce in mid-January. The company also began slashing compensation offers, and probably for good reason. Data shows Microsoft flashedfat checks in the employees' faces last year.
