The lawyer for a Canadian father jailed for opposing his daughters gender transition has been sanctioned for speaking out about the shocking case, prompting his client to charge that his own rights to defend himself in court do not exist.

The Law Society of British Columbia, a regulator authorized by Canadian law, cited attorney Carey Linde for professional misconduct for doing media interviews about his client, the father of a girl who identifies as male.Linde is accused of violating one or more orders from judges, a publication ban, an anonymity order, and a protection order, the Society alleges.

The childs father, whoseidentity was put under a publication ban by the Canadian court ostensibly to protect his child, told The Daily Wire the system is trying to punish his attorney to undermine his case.

A big part of the defense will be exposing the BC Supreme court system and the many judges that were a part of my case, the father said. We feel that this case is so politically charged that my rights and any level of fairness in the court system do not exist.

In interviews with American media outlets Linde discussed his clients daughters gender identity, physical and mental health, treatments, and personal information without regard for the judges orders, the regulator claims. Both citations were issued in 2021, but the regulator is only now taking thenext step in the disciplinary process.

A date will now be set for a disciplinary action hearing for Linde, who has been practicing law in British Columbia for over 50 years.

In 2018, the childs father, a Vancouver postman, was informed that a hospital would start administering cross-sex hormones to his child. Thanks to a recentCanadian law, doctors may administer transgender drugs to children without parental consent.

Five years later, the dad is still fighting in the British Columbia Courts over the loss of his parental rights in the medical transitioning of his teen daughter.

After the dad spoke out against his childs gender transition, hewas arrested in March, 2021 and fined $30,000 for misgendering his daughter, who was 13 at the time. He was also charged with criminal contempt of court. He was initially denied bail and held in jail.

The father has incurred enormous losses and expenses over the ordeal and has been dragged through a kind of legal hell, according to his GoGetFundingpage. The page has raised over $88,000 ($65,000 USD) as of Friday.

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh interviewed the Canadian dad for his documentary What Is A Woman, released last year.

The dad told Walsh that his ex-wife brought their daughter to an appointment at British Columbia Childrens Hospital. The dad said he trusted the hospital to perform a thorough evaluation andthought, good, this is going to be the end of it all. Theyre going to clearly see that my child is not the opposite sex.

He got a call less than an hour into that appointment, however, informing him that they were going to pump her full of cross-sex hormones within the hour, he said.

And I put a halt to that. I said no, the dad said. They agreed to stop for the moment. They figured, well lets get the dad on board too I said its not going to happen.

After that, the dad said he got a letter from the hospital in December 2018 saying that under British Columbias Infants Act the hospital would be starting his daughter on cross-sex hormones, and he had two weeks to respond with legal action if he chose to.

So thats how I ended up in court, because I did respond with legal action, the dad said.

Meanwhile, he was publicly referring to his daughter as she. In Canada, it can beconsidered criminal violence to refuse to use someones preferred pronouns, the dad said, so he ended up in jail.

It is no different than lets say I were to take a broomstick and whack one of my kids over the head, the dad said.

His daughter was still on cross-sex hormones as of Walshs interview.

The dad is back in court on May 31 tobegin his appeal at the British Columbia Court of Appeal, he told The Daily Wire.

The dad said his legal team told him his case is a priority for the government of British Columbia and they intend to win at all costs.
