Theres no doubt the Patriots offense has underperformed this season.

In early December, they currently sit 25th in total offense (318.9 yards per game), 27th in third down efficiency (36.2%), and tied with Denver for dead last in red zone touchdown percentage (37.5%). In the games most critical moments, the Patriots are continually coming up short, and theyre not in a playoff spot, accordingly.

So what does New England need to focus on to fix their offensive production?

Look, the bottom line is we need to just keep working to improve it every week, Bill Belichick said on a Friday morning conference call. This week will be different. Arizona is a different defense than Buffalo. Buffalo is a different defense than Minnesota. Minnesota is a different defense than the Jets. So its not as simple as working against improving your time in the mile run. Thats what not this is. This is about competing against another team. So well see what all that entails as we get into Arizona.

But we need to continue to do things better on our end and then as it relates to our specific opponent, then match them up and do them well against that opponent. So thats really the process.

Offensive players in the Patriots locker room were frustrated after a woeful showing in a 24-10 loss to the Bills on Thursday Night Football and a few made their voices heard. Belichick was then asked what he needs to do to get everyone on that side of the ball back on the same page.

What I just talked about. Its the same answer that we had to the last question, Belichick said. Just keep working through it. Theres no magic wand here.
