Have you ever been on a group project where everyone got an A but only a couple of people did all the work? Thats what it feels like coming out of Sundays game at Gillette Stadium.

The New England Patriots cruised to a comfortable 26-3 win over the Indianapolis Colts, improving to 5-4 as they head into the bye week. However, one side of the ball did all the heavy lifting while the other was busy rotating left guards and getting caught in 3rd-and-long.

At least its better than the guy in the group project who spends the whole meet-up scrolling on his phone and saying, Yeah, that sounds good.

Sure, the offense had nine sacks and a pick-six, but at least the offense scored a touchdown as well.

Lets hand out some grades:Quarterback

(Stats: 20-of-30, 147 yards, 1 TD, 89.2 passer rating)

What a weird, boring game from Mac Jones. It was frustrating to watch at times. Still, it was everything they really needed to win.

After running into turnover trouble in recent weeks, Jones took care of the ball on Sunday. He completed passes at a decent tick, though his accuracy was spotty at times.

It didnt help that his protection was pretty rough. Jones had little time to let things develop downfield. He also had trouble with the Colts defense sniffing out screen passes.

An average of 4.9 yards per attempt is not going to cut it most days. But it did the job this time around.

Grade: C-Running Back

J.J. Taylor got his first playing time of the season but didnt really have much to work with and finished with 9 yards on 10 carries. His best play of the game actually came when he jumped on a fourth-quarter fumble by Kendrick Bourne.

Rhamondre Stevenson was the best thing the offense had going for it all day. He had 60 yards on 15 carries, which wasnt easy considering how much penetration Colts defenders were getting. He also caught three passes, including the games only offensive touchdown.

Grade: B

Wide Receiver

Jakobi Meyers had some highlights, including a fun trick play where he came across in motion to take the snap on a quarterback sneak. Thats a cool play. Heres hoping they bring that back.

He also had a couple of brilliant catches through traffic, barely keeping the ball off the ground. However, the ball did hit the ground on a third-quarter fumble, which led to Indys only points.

The passing game was rather flaccid in this game, so theres not a lot of credit to give out. There were some drops on catchable passes. Meanwhile, Kendrick Bourne added to the fumble tally in the fourth quarter.

Grade: C-Tight End

After being quiet for much of the season, Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry provided a spark when there wasnt much anywhere else for the passing attack.

Henry had the Patriots biggest offensive play, busting open for a 30-yard gain down the seam. He finished with four catches for a team-high 50 yards.

Smith looked elusive in the open field on a 24-yard screen pass. He finished with three catches for 21 net yards, which really sums up how his other two receptions went.

Grade: BOffensive Live

For the second straight week, it was a trainwreck up front for the offensive line. It wasnt as bad as the Colts, but it still was a rough showing.

The Patriots averaged a meager 2.5 yards per carry and gave up four sacks and seven QB hits. Jones simply didnt have much going on in terms of protection.

James Ferentz got his second straight start at center. Blocking along the interior remains an issue. This team needs David Andrews back badly.

Meanwhile, Cole Strange and Isaiah Wynn rotated at left guard throughout the game. Stranges play has regressed heavily in recent weeks. He was beaten badly by DeForest Buckner and also had some key penalties. Wynn was similarly spotty.

At right tackle, Yodny Cajuste got the start, returning to the field after various injury issues. He struggled on the edge, with Kwity Paye blowing past him badly on a sack.

Left tackle Trent Brown and right guard Mike Onwenu were pretty good, though.

Grade: DDefensive Line

It helped not having to face Jonathan Taylor, but the run defense between the tackles really stepped up in this game.

Lead running back Deon Jackson had just 23 yards on 11 carries as the Colts averaged just 78 yards on the day — with Ehlinger accounting for 39 of those.

This was a quiet-but-effective game up front for the D-line. There werent many splash plays, but the results were there.

The only downside: Daniel Ekuale got called for roughing the passer after hitting Ehlinger in the facemask. It wiped out what would have been a fourth sack for Matthew Judon.

Grade: B+Linebacker

Judon, JaWhaun Bentley, Josh Uche, Jahlani Tavai and Raekwon McMillan combined for 8.5 sacks among linebackers as this group terrorized the Colts all day in the pass rush.

We knew this group was athletic and dynamic. They really showed it on Sunday as they stunted their way into the backfield all day.

Judon and Uche both had sack hat tricks. Judon would have had four if not for a penalty. He also drew a hands-to-the-face penalty that negated a third-down conversion.

Ehlinger spent much of the afternoon running for his life, hence the Colts finishing 0-for-14 on third down.

Grade: ASecondary

Yes, the pass rush was dominant. But you dont get nine sacks for 60 yards unless receivers are blanketed downfield.

The Colts had nothing going in the passing game downfield. Ehlinger finished with just 103 yards through the air, with no receiver reaching 25 receiving yards on the day.

With a 17-yard return on a pick-six, Jonathan Jones actually had the third-most yards gained by any player catching a pass from Ehlinger Sunday. The only thing that stopped him from getting the top spot was the end zone.

Meanwhile at safety, Adrian Phillips and Jabrill Peppers remains forces to be reckoned with in the run game and in the open field.Grade: ASpecial Teams

This was a big special teams day for the Patriots.

Nick Folk was great once again, going 4-for-4 on field goals, including a 49-yarder in windy conditions.

Marcus Jones has been absolutely electric on punt returns. He was terrific again Sunday, averaging 11.3 yards on three returns and showing good ball security.

Jonathan Jones had the highlight of the game when he blocked a punt that was recovered by Brenden Schooler. The special teams unit didnt score, but they did set up the Patriots only offensive touchdown of the day.

Jake Bailey bounced back with a brilliant 59-yard punt on his first kick of the day. However, he ran a little hot and cold. He averaged 38.7 yards on seven punts Sunday.
